At Hanover Fellowship Church (HFC), we believe it is found in 3 words: Worship, Connect and Grow.
Worship
We were created to worship God (Matt.4:10). Worship is more than music. In fact, you will find more references in the Bible to people worshiping God and His Son without instruments and singing than you do with them. Music changes our mood (I Sam.16:23) but it does not change the heart. Music is a vehicle for expression.
Here is a good definition of worship: “
Learning something different about a never changing God that transforms us and glorifies Him.”
Worship is not a place but an action of knowing God. Jesus said that we must worship the Father in “spirit and truth. (John 4:24)” . In fact, we are going to continually worship God not only in this life but also in the life to come because “knowing God the Father and His Son is eternal life. (John 17:3)”

Connect
Our first act of true worship brings us into connection with God; We understand in His word how to be saved and come to a knowledge of truth (I Timothy 2:4). Jesus said “unless a man is born again, He cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).” When we learn what Jesus has done for us by taking our sin and paying the penalty for our sin on the cross and offering forgiveness, we are instructed by scripture to “believe (trust) in Him (Romans 10:9).” When we do we are “made alive” by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 2:4-5), receive eternal life (John 6:47) and are brought into union with Christ (I Corinthians 2:13). This is the reconciling work of God. We are one with God the Father and His Son (John 17:21). This connection vertically helps us to connect horizontally with other believers (I John 1:3). At HFC, fellowship is our middle name and we gather as a body and enjoy close and authentic relationships that connect and build one another up in His love (Hebrews 10:24-25; I Thessalonians 5:11).
Grow
As we continue to worship and connect, we experience growth. Abiding in Christ (John 15:5) and being connected in the body (Ephesians 4:16) brings spiritual growth. With the Holy Spirit dwelling in us we have the motivating power of love (II Timothy 1:7) to mature and the insight to become Christ like. We produce fruit in character and conduct. As we feed on the grace and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus (II Peter 3:18), God gives the increase. We can experience growth organically. It is not manufactured, forced or mechanical, but our obedience will be natural. We love discipleship and coming alongside each other to support one another is part of the growth strategy for HFC (Colossians 2:19). When this happens, we find ourselves becoming what God has designed us to be (Col.3:10), and what He wants us to do (Ephesians 2:10); thus, we pursue worship, connecting, and growth.
