Dear Members of Hanover Fellowship Church
Over the last several months, the Church Council has been reviewing and revising the by-laws of the church, which are the governing documents of the church. The current by-laws were established in 2006 with minor revisions in December 2013 and March 2014. It was time to do a comprehensive review of the by-laws.
The review and revision are part of the revitalization process that Pastor John is leading us through currently. The major revision to the by-laws is the inclusion of Elders to help lead the church and changing the role of the Church Council to focus mainly on the financial aspects of the church with a name change to the Stewardship Council. Some of the responsibilities of the current Church Council will now be the responsibility of the Elders.
Below is a link to the pdf of a side-by-side copy of current by-laws and the proposed revision to the by-laws. The underlined areas in the proposed “Revised 2025” copy indicate where changes were made (the sections in the current by-laws are highlighted to show how the current copy reads). - Changing “Church Council” to “Stewardship Council”
- Updating general grammar, formatting, and organizational structure
